Fisher BioServices is pleased to announce our participation at the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER) 2018 Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX on May 20-24. This year's theme will focus on seizing big opportunities in biobanking through data, collaboration and innovation. ISBER 2018 is the premier global event in the field of biorepository and biospecimen management and we are honored to showcase our services and products in conjunction with our parent company, Thermo Fisher Scientific at booth #209.
In addition to our booth, we are also hosting an insightful lunch symposium:
Date: Tuesday, May 22nd
Time: 12:15 - 1:30 pm
Location: Landmark C
Topic: Implementation of genetic analysis in comprehensive biobanking workflows for basic science, clinical research and precision medicine applications
The importance of genetics as a function of biosample classification across many different scientific disciplines has led to a growing number of strategies for genetic characterization. The increasing number of samples being collected in conjunction with new technologies for genetic analysis has created a biobank workflow that integrates high throughput sample processing directly with high throughput genetic analysis. This integration has created new opportunities that include applications for assessing sample identity, subject qualification for clinical trials and real time genetic analysis for research and discovery programs. This workshop will describe the technical, operational and scientific impact of these new opportunities. A number of academic and industrial case studies will be presented.
We understand that biobanks serve a common goal: to improve understanding of patients, diseases and health; and to deliver the best individualized care. Sample quality is paramount to achieving that goal. Without confidence in the integrity of biosamples, there can be no confidence in the results.
